New Address as DH&Co expand their Hawick Presence

We are delighted to have officially opened our new office in Hawick office. Having been in the town for many years, it was time to expand. Moving from North Bridge Street to a more central and larger location on Oliver Place.

Our new space underwent substantial refurbishment. As the building was in a state of disrepair, it was stripped back to the bones to get rid of any wet and dry rot. The building, formerly known as Deans and Simpsons, the stationers, gives us a much more prominent position within the town and enables us to support the town centre.

The new office has room for up to 24 employees to work in an open plan and modern space, with a working kitchen area and formal meeting rooms to allow staff to work collaboratively following almost two years of working from home. The move will reduce commuting times for our staff, who have previously travelled to our Kelso headquarters. It also helps us to continue building our presence in the South of Scotland and Northern England.

Refurbishments were undertaken with environmental considerations at the forefront. The Douglas Home & Co team have worked closely with Zero Waste Scotland to identify carbon-reducing measures and create an incredible energy-efficient office. With recommendations to install specialist air conditioning, replace traditional lighting with high-efficiency LEDs and introduce other measures throughout the office, Douglas Home & Co has delivered a 67% carbon reduction for the office.

Following the completion at the end of February, the team moved in at the beginning of March. On the 3rd of March, the office open evening allowed local clients and business owners to view the building transformation. We look forward to welcoming our clients to our new address, 9 Oliver Street, over the coming months.
