28 May Douglas Home & Company Expand Again With New Office in Penrith and a Director Appointment
Our tax specialist Victoria Bewley, has recently received a promotion to become a director. Having been with our firm for 12 years, Victoria has seen us grow from 20 employees to over 70 with a total of 6 directors. She has also witnessed the geographical expansion from our first office in Kelso to 8 offices throughout Scotland and Northern England.
We launched a new office in Penrith earlier this year, which will now be the main base for Victoria as she builds client relationships within this area. We also added a second office to our collection in 2019, which is based in Rutland Square, Edinburgh. Our headquarters are still based in Kelso, Scottish Borders.
Victoria has been a part of our advisory department for six years and has developed her skills dealing with rural and corporate clients. With a background in agriculture, her knowledge of this industry has allowed her to gain a deep understanding of the different businesses within the sector. This allows Victoria to give tailored advice that can make great savings.
Her years of experience within the agricultural industry have led her to become an expert succession planner as this process is crucial for farmers who wish to pass the business to the next generation. Acting as an advisor, Victoria works with the different family members to make sure they clearly understand the forthcoming transfer. This gives the current owner peace of mind and allows them to maximise their growth, knowing that the farm will stay within the family for years to come.
Out with her rural work, Victoria also specialises in tax planning and claiming reliefs for research and development projects. The Douglas Home and Co team have recently assisted clients with R&D interests across diverse fields such as construction and cosmetics, showing that these projects are no longer restricted to traditional scientific research. Following many years working with a variety of different corporations, Victoria has gained great knowledge of different industries and the tax reliefs that are available.
